Appointment Terms & Medical Disclaimer

These terms apply to all appointments booked through the Virtual Triage platform (website or app). By confirming a booking, you agree to the following terms.

1. Nature of Our Service

Virtual Triage Ltd provides technology that allows patients to connect with independent clinicians and clinics.

Virtual Triage does not:

  • provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment
  • employ or supervise clinicians
  • guarantee clinical outcomes
  • issue prescriptions or medical notes

All healthcare services are delivered solely by the clinician or clinic you choose to engage with.

2. Emergency & Suitability Disclaimer

Virtual Triage is not suitable for emergencies or urgent health situations.

If you need urgent help, call 999 or go to the nearest emergency department.

3. Appointment Fees & Payments

  • Fees are set independently by each clinician or clinic.
  • Virtual Triage only facilitates secure payment on their behalf.
  • The transaction is between you and the clinician/clinic, not Virtual Triage.
  • By booking, you authorize us to collect payment upfront for the appointment.
  • Refunds can only be issued according to the cancellation policy below.

4. Cancellations, Refunds & Missed Appointments

4.1 Cancellations by the Patient

  • You may cancel your appointment through the platform.
  • Refund eligibility depends on the clinician or clinic's own cancellation policy.
  • Late cancellations or non-attendance may result in no refund.

4.2 Cancellations by the Clinician

If a clinician cancels, reschedules, or fails to attend:

  • You will be offered a refund or a rescheduled appointment.
  • Virtual Triage is not liable for inconvenience, loss, or any costs related to cancellations.

5. Clinical Responsibility

All clinical decisions and advice are the responsibility of the clinician or clinic providing your care.

This includes:

  • assessments
  • diagnoses
  • prescriptions
  • documentation
  • safeguarding
  • referrals and follow-ups
  • advice and treatment plans

Virtual Triage does not validate or review any clinical information.

6. Patient Obligations

By booking, you agree to:

  • provide accurate medical information
  • follow the clinician's instructions
  • use the service only for yourself (unless you are a legal guardian)
  • attend the appointment with a stable internet connection
  • contact emergency services when needed

Failure to provide full and honest information may affect your care.

7. Prescriptions & Medical Documents

Any prescriptions, sick notes, test requests, referral letters, or medical documentation issued through the platform are provided solely by the clinician.

Virtual Triage:

  • does not issue prescriptions
  • does not guarantee that prescriptions will be provided
  • is not responsible for pharmacy dispensing or availability

Prescriptions/Consultation Notes are subject to local laws and clinician judgement.

8. Technical Limitations

While we aim to provide reliable technology, the service may be affected by:

  • device issues
  • internet connectivity
  • software updates
  • technical maintenance

Virtual Triage is not liable for missed appointments caused by technical failures outside our control.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Virtual Triage is not liable for any clinical decisions, advice, treatment, or outcomes.
  • Virtual Triage is not responsible for errors, omissions, or behaviour of clinicians.
  • Your contract for medical care is with the clinician/clinic, not Virtual Triage.
  • Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for platform services (excluding clinician fees).

10. Complaints

10.1 Clinical Complaints

If your complaint relates to:

  • clinical care
  • diagnosis
  • prescriptions
  • behaviour of a clinician

You must contact the clinician or clinic directly.

11. Changes to These Terms

Virtual Triage may update these terms occasionally.
Your continued use of the platform after changes indicates acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
